150-word biography

Clare Hopwood is Miss Great Britain Manchester 2026, an accountant and advocate for mental health in farming communities. Raised in a farming family in Heyrod, near Stalybridge, Clare grew up with the long hours, practical responsibility and close community that shape rural life. Her family connection to the Mottram Show stretches across generations, and farming remains central to her identity. In 2026, Clare was crowned Miss Great Britain Manchester and also received the Charity Award and Beach Body Award. She is using her title to create conversations beyond the pageant stage through Fields of Hope, a platform focused on support, connection and strength across agriculture. Clare wants people working in rural communities to feel less isolated and more able to ask for help. Alongside appearances, fundraising and her professional work, she shares a grounded message: the crown is not the destination, but the beginning of a purpose driven journey. Her work brings together rural life, public service and personal resilience.
